COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

A full-bodied and malty ale with a rounded, smooth fruit palate and a tight, creamy head that laces all the way down the glass. Rich in colour with a smooth, creamy texture and a distinctively strong flavour.

Dark amber color, with little head. Not much nose upon the first smell, after smelling for a bit could detect a bit of smoke and malt.Very good smokey malt flavor. Can drink plenty of this fine ale.

A dark amber beer with a good head. The aroma is slight with notes of fruit and smoked malt. The flavor is very soft and good with a light smoke note as well as some fruitiness. A nice beer.

Amber bodied with a delicious inch high contoured cream head. Toasted malt aroma with some smoke notes. Lovely malt taste--has a barrel quality to it, to me this is the epitome of a scotch ale.

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2004 Beautiful aroma and appearance. Good head, caramel coloured tiny bubbles with good lacing. Definate smokiness to the flavour and a saltiness as well. Heavy flavour takes a few sips to get used to. Light fruit at the start. Bitterness and hops in the back. Definately a flavour you'll remember. Can feel the carbonation on your tongue.

Stong scotch, sugary aroma. One of the strongest aromas I have experienced so far. Pours a lovely copper brown, thick head. Looks great in my Guinness glass. Downhill from there. Has a unenjoyable palate. Hint of smokiness, combined with the cigarette-butt aftertaste. Description on the back of the bottle talks about the golf course and skips the beer. Now we know why.

Smells and tastes like smokey, lightly watered down scotch whiskey with slightly bitter hop flavor. Dark reddish brown in color. Good head diminishes very quickly.Light to medium body or mouthfeel. Not much sweetness. Decent carbonation stays. Tasted a little bland. Maybe this was an old bottle, but I probably won't try this one again.

Sweet, fruit and malt aroma. Copper, pours a large vanilla head. Malt, caramel, almost no bitterness. Thin mouthfeel, good but I'm sure this was better when it was fresh.

Burnt caramel color. Tan head, very creamy with good lace. Fruity, hoppy and malty. The entire package comes together pretty well.
