Sweet, fruit and malt aroma. Copper, pours a large vanilla head. Malt, caramel, almost no bitterness. Thin mouthfeel, good but I'm sure this was better when it was fresh.

Burnt caramel color. Tan head, very creamy with good lace. Fruity, hoppy and malty. The entire package comes together pretty well.

Bottle. Dark amber color with a ight cream colored head. Light Otter malt aromas, with hay and peat. Quite silky in feel. Malty flavors with a touch of peat. Very balanced, but quite bland. Much prefer the "Wee Heavy".

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Extremely malty, with a lot of body and flavor intensity. Hops are light and present only in the finish. I can’t imagine a bunch of lame golfers drinking this stuff. They all seem like Zima types.

UPDATED: APR 14, 2004 I used to love the toffee aroma and smooth toffee malt flavors...and I must say, I do still like them a lot...However, its a bit thin on my modern palate..That being said..the pour produced an interesting bourbon-amber color...a thin sheet of somewhat lace resistant head tops things off...nice nutty toffee aromas and flavors...It might be a bit thin, but i still like this beer.

This beer rocks.
The aroma is malty and yeasty with caramel, plum and earthy notes.
This sparkling clear, amber ale has a large, rocky, white head with good lacing. The head is mostly lasting.
The flavor is heavily malty and slightly sweet up front. Caramel, toffee and a nice hop balance onthe backside.
Medium-bodied. Buttery mouthfeel with lively carbonation. Short, lightly pungent and fairly dry finish. Just a hint of hop bitterness in the finish. Well balanced, nice Scottish ale. Thanks go out to loweredsixth for this one.
