Clear nutty color with a creamy off white head. Lovely lacy. Toffee, butterscotch and malty. Medium body and a soft carbonation. Tad sweet and a mild bitterness. Dull boring stuff.

Rarely seen in St Andrew’s these days. Or Scotland for that matter. The Greene King influence continues to disappoint.Likely to do with the now liberal use of their own home yeasts on this formerly unique beers. And this one lacks balance. That’s not to say its bad. Soft brown toffee morish quality with a pinch of earth. But it needs more structure and more development at the beginning and end. As a beer as itself its fine but it bares little resemblance to what it once was under Belhaven ownership.
