seuinoz (136), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 13, 2003 very odd taste on the palate.(like bead dough with hints of fruit?)
very drinkable ale.
tasty not harsh.
very unique in flavor.
a very good brew. Choke (96), Massachusetts, USA Dec 19, 2002 This stuff is sweet to the taste mild after taste, and it goes down so smooth. Cheap for what you get ScotYankBard (16), USA Feb 6, 2008 This brew had an awesome color for a scotch ale. Not only was this beer malty but peaty as well. I love the peat finish. Very little in the way of hops, flavor or smell and that’s the way it should be with a Scotish Ale. It is very unfortunate that someone catagorized this SCOTTISH ALE as an ESB. MALTY, LITTLE HOPS, AND PEATY FINISH.........definitely a SCOTCH ALE. mookie (43), Tacoland, Texas, USA Feb 14, 2005 500 ml bottle, pours nice brown with golden hue. nice foam. very much like belhaven scottish ale but a bit richer. bready and fruity with roasted and caramel notes. very nice malt. soft on the palate and finishes dry. well balanced. another wonderful scottish ale from belhaven. another turn on Braudog (3463), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Jan 4, 2004 Woody reddish brown with decent foamy head. Inviting fruity hopped aroma. Smokey peat flavor with tart and sweet finish. Nice.
