3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 _angst_ (510) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - FEB 8, 2012
Draught @ Ölrepubliken. Pours clear deep golden with a white head that clings to the glass while dissipating. Smell is subtle and malty with caramel and orange zest. Taste is malty, slightly sweet, slightly bitter and floral with honey, grass, caramel and butterscotch. Finish is sweet, malty and slightly bitter.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Danny1217 (77) - Miami, Florida, USA - FEB 3, 2012
For some reason there’s no draft version of this (which is the only way I’ve had this,) so I’m reviewing it here under the European bottle version, because I had it in Europe.
Twisted Thistle is a good example of a British style IPA. Very good.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 BenH (519) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 3, 2012
Bottle at waterline, Leith. Golden orange with thin white head. Aroma has caramel and flowery hops. Taste has lots of green apple, caramel and toffee. Quite astringent. Ok at first, quite bad by the end. Hard to finish
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hackobock (47) - SWEDEN - FEB 3, 2012
Bottle from Systembolaget. Clear golde with white frothy head. Used to American IPA:s the aroma of this is "weak" consisting of hay, bread and some citrusy notes. Taste is sweet (resin), the bitterness disappaers quickly. Positively surprised, not a big fan of british IPA:s.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 14/20 esox (684) - Oulu, FINLAND - JAN 19, 2012
Tap. Clear copper to orange beer. Thin but creamy head. Hoppy aroma has peach and passion fruit, lemon and strawberry. Pale malts wit some caramale and light nuttiness in the finish. Slightly honeyish. Bitterish flavor with nice malt bacbone. Slightly too toffy to my taste. Bitter and quite fruity finish. Medium body, low carbonation and sticky bitterness. Slightly flat.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ALLOVATE (1530) - Butler, WA, AUSTRALIA - JAN 3, 2012
Rating from back in March ’08. Quite an attractive number in the glass. Mountainous, rocky, snow-white crown that holds for the length and laces rings. A slight haze shrowds its sunny orange gold body writhe with rapid streams of bubbles. Aroma of rose petals, ripe sweet oranges, lychee and toasted, biscuity malts with a dampening rubbery note in there. A tight burst of zesty citrus fruits upfront in the mouth. Nutty, bready grains mid-palate with a bitter, spicy and floral peak on the swallow. Spritzy, light and rounded mouthfeel, smooth in the tail. Finish is piney, spicy and dry with more floral and citrus notes pinning the olfactories. This is a good, honest quaffer. Made for delightful drinking. (50cL, BBE 09/08, Rose Hotel, Bunbury)
