Bottle. Golden and poured with a medium head.No carbonation and a hoppy bitterness which was slightly overpowering.Nevertheless this is an excellent beer from a brewery who you dont normally associate that description.

Bottle. Golden with a small head. Aromas are marmalade with caramel and biscuit malts. Some bitter pine and hints of metal. Flavours are pricklu pine hops with good bitter and sweet lemon. Pretty good.

500ml bottle from Morrisons. CLear amber with a thick white head and lively carbonation; rich orange aroma; intense grapefruit taste, exploding in the mouth with citrus fruitiness; leaving a long clean bitter finish. The "IPA" on the label is a bit of a red herring, this is an excellently constructed premium golden ale.

Sharp, sweet aroma, hoppy as hell. Pours clear gold with good two finger white head, good lacing. Malty flavour predominates with with some bitter and citric hop notes and a smokiness hard to pin down. palate smooth and light, finsh dry, bitter and lingering. Good.

Bottle. Golden beer with a light head. The aroma is lightly hopped and chocolaty, the flavour is quite vinous, malty and dry at the finish. Overall a good quite strong tasting beer.

Really impressed with this. But I have been stranded in a beerless, rain-sodden desert/council estate for the past 2 weeks (Costa Del ’Sol’). Deceptively lagery gold pour. Juicy mandarin hop snout. Bitterly citrussy with a delicately biscuity malt balance. How I’ve missed beers that taste of hops. Top-drawer refreshment.

(Bottle BB date not readable) Crispy, fruity, hoppy and malty aroma. Golden colour, clear and average size, white, very slightly lasting head with good lacing. Malty, citrus fruity, slightly bitter, slightly toffee and grassy (finnish) flavour. Medium-bodied, dry and softly carbonated palate. Crispy brew! 23/02/07

Draught (Leskinen, Oulu). Sweet and fruity aroma - doughy bread in the mouth, and superbly bitter in a flowery and refreshing way. Did I mention doughy bread? Good - ’cos I meant it. And bitter. More please!

500ml bottle from Franglais, Calais. Rating number 2900 (even got some Scottish music!!!!). There is an argument that British beers suffer from being bottled due to the fact that the lightness of alcohol and delicate/subtle flavours can’t withstand the process. My experience would support that argument. So this is 5.3% ABV, so let’s see what happens with a stronger beer. Copper coloured with thin off white head. Sherberty hop aroma which I do sometimes go for. Some Fry’s Turkish Delight fruit in mouth, before more sherberty hop comes in on the end. If I had this in the PNW, I wouldn’t be surprised, but from Scotland? Not that I’m complaining. Quite soft in mouth. The Cascades give a bit of earthyness. Not a huge body, and to be honest it is a bit empty from the pasteurisation in the bottle. However, having druink a lot of dull bitters in the past 2 weeks, it’s a pleasant change. Even still, it’s a bit sickly by the finish.

rsmeds (228) - Turku, FINLAND - DEC 21, 2006
Bottle. Pours a clear brass-brown, with a small white head. Flowery/grassy bitterish and fresh hop aroma. Smooth, flowery hop flavor with a bitterish aftertaste. Very mild carbonation, smooth lightish body, vaguely creamy mouthfeel. All in all, a decent, simple, no-nonsense IPA.
