A stunning India Pale Ale (IPA), don’t think that Belhaven’s Twisted Thistle has anything jaggy, spikey, prickly or otherwise pain-inflicting in its nature. Quite the opposite. Your taste buds will tingle with pleasure after a sip or two of this golden nectar. A real treat from our master brewers in Dunbar.
Ingredients: Pale malt, Cascade and Challenger hops.

330ml brown bottle poured into a Tulip glass. Appearance is clear golden with a medium sized frothy beige head, that reduced quickly leaving a little lacing. Aroma of orange peels and caramel. Flavour of orange peels, caramel, bread and spices. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Palate is light-medium bodied, smooth texture and average carbonation. Overall a pleasantly malted bitter IPA, quite good.

Bottle: Good fucken aroma. Let me say it’s like a really nice air-freshener. Woody hops, fat sticky rich hops, caramel bathing in syrup. Looks and resembles a "textbook" IPA. On my damn palate ***=++=ok, kinda mild and chill. But the hops are alive, rich, chewy and floral and caramel too. Some would call this dull, but it’s easy and not bad. More like a hoppy ESB than typical modern IPA

Bottle. Golden color. Hay, peach, licorice and salt in the aroma. Malty sweetish, salty, slightly alcoholic flavor. Peach. Some hopbitterness. Tasty.

Bottle: Dark golden color, off-white head. Aroma of pine, herbs, resin. Flavor is malty, light sweet, caramelic, herbal, pine, bitter hops. To rough hops for me.

Small slightly fizzy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet fruity, sap, caramel malts, leafs, bark, heather, weeds, wet grass, dried fruits. Taste is slightly sweet grassy, sap, leafs, caramel malts, dried fruits, wet grass, bark, weeds, hops. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh and watery mouthfeel. Fair enough, just boring.

Bottle from Tesco Copper orange with an off white head. Citrus and fruits throughout. Also reminds me of hay, a bit dry perhaps. Bitter after taste. A bit thin as I got to the end of the bottle.

Honung, nektarin, väldigt mjuk.lite bitterhet. Ingen spets trots lite humle. Otypisk IPA.
