A stunning India Pale Ale (IPA), don’t think that Belhaven’s Twisted Thistle has anything jaggy, spikey, prickly or otherwise pain-inflicting in its nature. Quite the opposite. Your taste buds will tingle with pleasure after a sip or two of this golden nectar. A real treat from our master brewers in Dunbar.
Ingredients: Pale malt, Cascade and Challenger hops.

Aroma: yum! Different hops that all come together beautifully. Biscuity malt. Delicious. Somewhat soapy and neste-like. Definitely my type of aroma. Very faint scent of liquorice.
Flavour: Initially sweet and reminiscent of cookies – in a delicious way. Mild hop bitterness kicks in and makes it a very palatable albeit mild beer. I think of getting inside a cosy cabin at winter, fresh baked cookies and some fluffy beer. Some of that liquorice again, and it doesn’t fit the taste as well as the aroma. Slightly roasted aftertaste. Overall much breadier than expected.
Appearance: Clear, yellowish orange body w/ some pale, frothy head.
Palate: Fluffy, delicious.

Nice IPA that does not feel excessive. Here is a good balance between sweetness and bitterness and the aftertaste is quite pleasant and long.

Aroma has some hoppy fruitiness but not much, caramel and some dark breadiness from the hops. Clear amber white head. Quite bitter, bit of zest in bitterness, mellow malt background. Light dry, average to lively carbonation. Nice taste but the hops in the aroma are to tired, maybe an old bottle?

Greets with a ton of grapefruit and leaves with a lasting bitter after taste. I would call it a hybrid American pale ale and British bitter.

Bottle 0,33 l, alc. 5,3%. Amber beer with big, flossy head. The taste is malty and a little fruity on the beginning, with light but sharp bitter at the finish.

Clear amber body and a large rocky head that is fastly diminishing. Aroma of hops; pine, flowers, citrus. The taste is medium sweet and heavy bitter with a long bitter finish.

Not very intensive aroma of grassy and floral hops. Small quite durable head. Clear light amber body. Medium to high bitterness in taste with well-balanced malty sweetness. Short bitter aftertaste.

330ml bottle from Aldi. Poured amber and fizzy, large head quickly dissipated. Very little on the nose. Bitter taste with little of the promised fruit. Not bad, but far from the best IPA I?ve had

Bottle, 500mL. Home. A clear orange light brown beer with thin stalagmites of bubbles. Medium white head, medium persistence. Good lacing. Aroma of resin, herbs, roasty, caramel, floral, (light) fruits (acid ones, and exotic fruits). Medium refreshing bitter and sugary sweet in the background. Medium body, silky texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. Overall, I really like this resin, floral aroma. Refreshing.
