Commercial Description:
Bottle: Pastuerised.
A refreshing example of an India Pale Ale from the master brewers at Belhaven. The blend of Cascade and Challenger hops combine to produce an abundance of fresh hop aroma that preludes a bitter-dry taste explosion. Crafted from nearly three centuries of brewing heritage at Scotland’s oldest independent brewery, this ale from Belhaven will have your taste buds tingling.

KSBF 08 - Orange amber pour with small layer of foam. Balanced beer with lots of floral english style hops and sweet malt. Crisp and refreshing. Probably the best English IPA I’ve had yet.

(Tap) Pours a orange color with a small white head. Aroma of hops and light caramel malts. Taste includes lots of hops, pine, some citrus, light toffee and light alcohol. Balance is reasonably good, and the beer is pretty drinkable. I enjoyed this one.

Bottle. Pours a clear, fizzy amber color. Moderate white head, creamy, with excellent retention and decent lacing. Mild aroma of dry and bitter hops. Taste is just slightly malty but dominated by bitter hops. Slightly piney in the dry finish. Definitely not a balanced beer--hops dominate throughout. But enjoyable and drinkable.

Bottle. Light malt aromas of light bread and caramel, moderate resin and orange for the hops, light cobwebs for the yeast, and faint notes of apple and berry. Head is frothy, almost white with excellent lacing and is fully lasting. Color is hazy orange/tan with tiny particles. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then the extra long finish is moderately bitter. Palate is medium, oily and has a lively carbonation. The finish is lightly drynig. This was a good IPA. It would’ve been exceptional if the aroma was a bit bolder.

Bottle. Poured orange with a creamy off-white head that settle to a ring and left good lacing. Floral aroma with some caramel and citrus backing. The flavor is a malt and hop mix that is a little different but ok. Slightly more fruity that hoppy. Medium body, sweet up front and bitter in the end.

From a bottle at KSBF ’08. Light gold pour capped by a fluffy white head. Smells of citrus, grass, and caramel. Grassy flavor with some citrus and fruity esters. Not bad.
