Beerman6686 (1266), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 26, 2008 Poured a cloduy orangish yellow color with a white head. Aroma was very malty, much like an english IPA. Flavor was much the same, not so much a bad beer, but for an APA not very balanced tedovertu (259), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA Jul 26, 2008 Clear gold body with a small head with little to no lacing. Pine/Spruce hoppiness that is not too dry. Light body with an average duration and a light bitterness. Well balanced not as hoppy as most IPA beers. This was very refreshing surprise. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA Jul 21, 2008 Pours clear gold with a decent white head. Sharp, peppery hops that actually smell like a thistle. Astringent hop taste, reminiscent of an English IPA, with a decent amount of orange citrus flavors, and a sweeter, honey-malt finish. A pleasant surprise. zappafan99 (462), Ascension Island Jul 15, 2008 Updated: Sep 6, 2008Taste 7/8. Looks: Nice gold with a thick foam. Aroma: Nice, crisp spicy hops. Sweetness in the malt. Taste: Neat. Not too soapy, or citrus. More even, orange, spicy, caramel in the malt. Full bodied. Smooth for this style. Quite good. Re-rate 9/8 Still stand by original rating. Great beer. Snojerk321 (1918), San Diego, California, USA Jul 15, 2008 Bottle from BevMo La Mesa. Pours a light copper color with a good sized head that left great lacing. Great piny and citrus hop aroma. Flavor was a bit too malty thus making the beer a bit unbalanced in my opinion. verymerrymonk (255), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jul 11, 2008 Pours a clear orange body with a thin but enduring head. Not what I’d think of as an APA or an IPA, but pretty good. Maybe a bit more balanced and less pungent. Nice. gotohelunc (473), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 8, 2008 Bottle. Clear, light copper color. Big foamy head settles to almost nothing. Thin hoppy nose with some sourness. Flavor’s mildly hoppy, very crisp and dry with a clean finish. Tastes like a nice session APA. durhambeer (1188), Durham, USA Jul 8, 2008 On tap at Bull McCabe’s in Durham. More malty (those British biscuity malts) than most IPAs and definitely different from the hop bombs that are American IPAs. Mild citrus, hops blended with the English malts. Solid, and much better from draught.
