Commercial Description:
Bottle: Pastuerised.
A refreshing example of an India Pale Ale from the master brewers at Belhaven. The blend of Cascade and Challenger hops combine to produce an abundance of fresh hop aroma that preludes a bitter-dry taste explosion. Crafted from nearly three centuries of brewing heritage at Scotland’s oldest independent brewery, this ale from Belhaven will have your taste buds tingling.

On tap at Bull McCabe’s in Durham. More malty (those British biscuity malts) than most IPAs and definitely different from the hop bombs that are American IPAs. Mild citrus, hops blended with the English malts. Solid, and much better from draught.

Amber color with a white head leaving good lacing, some yeast chunks floating. Floral, little caramel background, medicinal. Cardboard and caramel with a weird hop twang and a sour aftertaste. Average carbonation and light bodied. I would probably try this again because I think I got a bad bottle, but this one was not very good.

Pours a medium amber with a creamy white head and good lacing. Floral hops are evident in the aroma at first, but not as much after the first sip. First several sips had a fairly strong mettalic aftertaste. Beyond that, taste was lightly bitter, with lively carbonation. The finish is a bit weak for an IPA - it’s missing that bite you expect from the bitterness of the hops.

draught: dark gold colour. Aroma of orange and hops. It is smooth mild flavor with a bit of hops, perhaps some spice to it and tiny bit of citrus. Will have again.

Bottle from BevMo. Light orange/amber in color. Slightly sweet hoppy aroma. Highly hopped English IPA. Some breadiness. Has a somewhat earthy quality. This is kind of like an impy ESB. Pretty enjoyable.

On tap at the Olde Ship, Santa Ana Ca. Pours golden amber with almost no head. Aroma of sweet citrus with a hint of hops and spices. Flavor beings mild and smooth and finishes with sweet and bitter spice. More like an ESB than an American (San Diego, Ca) IPA. I know there is hops, but it is subtle compared to an American IPA. Super clear appearance.
