HopDevil1979 (117), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jan 14, 2007 Smells of hard candy melted and burnt on the stove. Pours dark amber with minimal head. The hops could not over power the malty blast of this beer. Tastes of sweet mud. European hops must give it that earthy taste, but the malt is let loose to dominate. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 14, 2007 (Bottle 50 cl) Clear, pale amber golden with a white head. Lightly citrusy aroma. Fairly light-bodied. Some malt but overwhelmingly dominated by fairly dry and citric hops that leave a solid dose of bitterness. 080107 faroeviking (6024), Republica Vikingo de las, Faroe Islands Jan 12, 2007 Bottle bought at Strandens Øl og Vand in Copenhagen. Slightly hazy pale colour with a nice average white head. Aroma is fruity, bit citric, malty. Flavour is dry and crispy, fruity, with good hops, maltiness and some sweetness. smhncabot (310), Cabot, Arkansas, USA Jan 12, 2007 this is the best english ipa ive ever had. herbal and earthy hoppiness with a dry biscuit maltiness. surprising a scottish company new how to use hops. xmarcnolanx (789), Kirkwood, Missouri, USA Jan 11, 2007 I liked this beer a lot. A very different IPA taste-wise. I had this after a Two Brother’s Hop Juice, but somehow I could still taste the beer very well. Very grassy and herbal. Just a good, weird IPA. Borup (1345), Albertslund, Denmark Jan 11, 2007 Bottle. Amber colour with a nice creamy head. Aroma and flavour of fruit, caramel and hops. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jan 10, 2007 Not much aroma. Taste is very grassy/earthy, the hops barely overpowering the malts. Can’t understand the English IPA. This is weirdly good and bad. BillyM (149), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Jan 8, 2007 Lively floral-pine start. Creamy & hoppy texture in the middle. Citrus hint in the finish - orange-lemon-lime. Strong but soft hoppy flavor - very full but comes on smooth & leaves just as smoothly. Softened by subtle hints of oak & caramel. One of the better IPA’s I’ve had... so far.
