Flavor is a bit thin and weak. Some hops make an appearence but nothing stand out as it should in a IPA. Smells better than it tastes. Medium for the style. oldrtybastrd (1846), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 28, 2006 500 ml bottle, from Holiday Wine Cellar. Pours a hazy, ruddy amber with lots of tiney floaties in suspension and a large beige head that leaves nice lacing. Sweet, toasty and caramelly malt aroma with a distinct hop character that’s somewhat vegetal and herbal in character. Flavor is sweet, perhaps a bit oxidized, with the herbal and floral hops - again with a somewhat vegetal taste and a bit of pepper in the finish. Medium body, creamy carbonation. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 26, 2006 Light fluffy head of bubbles. Kind of sticky and reduces to a thick sheet of lacing. Surprisingly little cabonation. Big hoppy aroma. Lots of floral and a little citrus. Also a distinct iced tea aroma. Maybe a little lemon. Color is a bright golden amber. Crisp and citrusy in the mouth. Lemon, grapefruit and a good amount of bitterness. Thin malts give it kind of a weak body. Pretty tasty though. Finish is bitter and dry like a good IPA should be. Lingering bitterness. A pretty good IPA and better that I expected. thornecb (1821), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 7, 2006 Pours dark amber into a shaker. Citrus, pine, bandaid and resin notes. Significant micro head that convexes above the rim and leaves plaster of lacing. Thin with upfront malt bandaid flavors and a lasting bitter bandaid finish. Didn’t really detect anything other than bandaids..ah, well. rederic (1816), montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 7, 2006 Bright amber color, with a frothy white head, nice fresh flowery hops nose, with a touch of orange fruitiness, piney, leafy and grassy notes, faint malty aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a juicy piney, grassy hops character, with an orange fruitiness from the cascade and challenger hops used, with a subtle toasty malt note, leading towards a piney lingering bitter hops finish. Very pretty dark honey body with a thick foamy head that fades into a thin foam film. Nose is caramel and clean hops. Taste-I was pleasantly surprised by the taste. Roasted caramel, upfront bitterness, cereal, berries, smoke. lots of fruit esters and hops. The smoke really comes out on the back end, especially as it warms. Is there any beverage that the Scots WON’T try to add a smokey flavor to? Well, I rather enjoyed it, so who am I to judge? Overall a very mild inoffensive sweet IPA. Not bad for one fruity ass IPA. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 8, 2005 Golden amber body under a frothy off-white head. The aroma is hoppy, pine, citrus, peat. Smooth texture, nice carbonation. The flavor is tolerable hops and fruit. I’ve become more accustomed to American IPAs.
