COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Pasteurised. Has been seen on draught.
A refreshing example of an India Pale Ale from the master brewers at Belhaven. The blend of Cascade and Challenger hops combine to produce an abundance of fresh hop aroma that preludes a bitter-dry taste explosion. Crafted from nearly three centuries of brewing heritage at Scotland’s oldest independent brewery, this ale from Belhaven will have your taste buds tingling.

Light brown, fully diminishing, good lacing, malty aroma and flavor, slight hop bitter to finish.

Tap at Three Fires. Light grain malt, light vinegar aroma. Golden with a huge off-white head, thick creamy lacing. Light grainy malt flavor. No significant hop bitterness. IPA? I almost thought the barkeep had given me the wrong beer. LIght body, flat carbonation.

Bottle at bar. Amber color, white head. Bitter taste with caramel, citrus and floral hops. Smooth body, a bit weak for an IPA. Bitter finish with fruits. Good for a pale ale, but pretty weak as an IPA.

On draft. Amber. Floral nose. Citrus and biscuits in the taste. Creamy mouthfeel for an IPA.

Bottle. A solid, bitter, well balance English ale here, though would maybe want a bit more body. Pours with a light, creamy starch white head, a light carbonated body, and is light orange in color. Aroma and flavor are quite compatible. Maybe a bit more lemon butter and caramel cookies in the taste. Also, yeasty bread, lemony citrus bitter, and minor herbal earth. Not a lot of complaints here.

It poured a clear golden color with a small white head. The aroma was grassy hops, some grain, malts and honey. The taste was a little bitter, but not much in the way of the hop profile. An ok IPA.

Tap. Pours clear light amber with a small off-white head and minimal lacing. Aroma is sweet honey, floral, perhaps grass. Flavor is medium sweet, floral, a bit weird actually, with a medium bitter finish. Not a fan.

omg thats so cool, i think first impression on the aroma it was like strawberry jam, after that it was hops. Nice bitterness on the taste, lightly carboned and dry!

One of my favorites from back in the day. Don’t know why they would put this in a clear bottle now, never good news. Color of wet straw with a decent head that lasts. Nose is hoppy and astringent once the initial skunk has done it’s business. Actually has a very pleasant nose, a little medicinal and somewhat grassy and nutty. Taste is light hop and light malt, medium bodied, and some spicyness and grassy grain leading to an overall impression of refreshing. So the clear bottle didn’t absolutely destroy this beer. Alot like a good Saison with a spattering of Cascade hops. Wish I could compare to the old brown bottled version, but I like.
