COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Pasteurised. Has been seen on draught.
A refreshing example of an India Pale Ale from the master brewers at Belhaven. The blend of Cascade and Challenger hops combine to produce an abundance of fresh hop aroma that preludes a bitter-dry taste explosion. Crafted from nearly three centuries of brewing heritage at Scotland’s oldest independent brewery, this ale from Belhaven will have your taste buds tingling.
6.1% USA export version. The Europe version is 5.3%.

Serving: from tap at Doyle’s Public House. Aroma: couldn’t detect anything. Appearance: small, rocky, white, initial head with good lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Clear, flat, dark-yellow body. Taste: lightly sweet and moderately hoppy initial flavor and lightly bitter and nutty finish with average duration. Palate: medium body and soft carbonation. Overall: very good. Hoppy but sweet. Look forward to drinking this again.

Had it on tap at Valkyrie in Tulsa. Poured a slight head with a light aroma and smooth IPA taste. It’s a very smooth tasting IPA without any bitterness.

Bottle at Donnelly's pub. Great mouth feel awesome taste and subtle dry qualities that you don't find in American IPA's. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very malty, peaty smell. Gold, lifeless color but a lot of lace. Tastes sour, malty, tart, with a sweet liquory aftertaste like it has been aged in whiskey barrels. Tastes more like a Scotch Ale to me than an IPA.

Ok for an IPA. Not strong. I like them punch in your face. The taste is a little on the light side. Typical of an English IPA. They tend to be lighter in taste then the American version. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Spicy with a malty back character, I think this is an interesting beer but short in the hop depth I've come to appreciate in many American IPAs. Tasty nonetheless ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

16.9 oz. clear bottle from The Beer Store, Nashua, NH. A clear bottle, really?? No bottle dating anywhere either. Nose is skunky hops and light caramel. The taste has some sweet pale malt, floral hops, and some light cracker notes. Body is on the light side of medium. Finish is clean and abrupt. I will say that this beer really is nicely balanced. And extremely easy to drink. What Americans have to remember here is this is an English IPA, not an American interruption. It should be more sweet with a subtle hop. I will find this on cask and compare. A nice surprise.
