Bottle; Pasteurised. Has been seen on draught.
A refreshing example of an India Pale Ale from the master brewers at Belhaven. The blend of Cascade and Challenger hops combine to produce an abundance of fresh hop aroma that preludes a bitter-dry taste explosion. Crafted from nearly three centuries of brewing heritage at Scotland’s oldest independent brewery, this ale from Belhaven will have your taste buds tingling.

Serving: from tap at Doyle’s Public House. Aroma: couldn’t detect anything. Appearance: small, rocky, white, initial head with good lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Clear, flat, dark-yellow body. Taste: lightly sweet and moderately hoppy initial flavor and lightly bitter and nutty finish with average duration. Palate: medium body and soft carbonation. Overall: very good. Hoppy but sweet. Look forward to drinking this again.

On tap at St. Andrews in NYC. Pours amber with white head. nose is of stale malt and spoiled apple juice. Body is medium and crisp. Earthy hops, caramel and biscuit malt and ripe fruit combine on the palate. Finish is long, dry and earthy. Overall this is good brew that I would drink again.

Clear golden with medium head. Butterscotch aroma. Dry, bitter taste at first, then some honey tones. Plain and refreshing.

Pretty good for a non lPA lover. Nice appearance. Not too harsh on the palate like other IPAs. Tried this at Park Lane as part of a sampler.

Clear amber pour with just a hint of red and a thick head with an excellent lasting lacing. Nice nose of light pine hops, mostly spruce but also a floral note, over a slightly sweet malt background. The body is on the high end of medium with just the right level of carbonation. Mouthfeel is smooth and just shy of slick. The flavor profile is quite nice and complex. It begins with caramel sweetness over a light spruce hop flavor, effervesces into a light bitterness with floral notes and finishes a bit tart. The finish itself is a blend of caramel sweetness and hop earthiness that lingers against a light bitterness over a background tartness. An outstanding "twist" on an IPA.

Aroma: herbs, citrus, honey. Appearance: amber-golden color, nice lasting head. Taste: nice bitterness (pine and herbs), sweetness (malty backbone), well-balanced and refreshing. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation, nice bitter finish. Overall: Nice refreshing beer, good bitterness, well-balanced.

I actually thought that this was a fairly decent IPA. Does not hold up to the American hop monsters, but an average drinkable beer.

Orange draft at dukes of Perth. Dank wet carpet aroma (not in a bad way - just their style). Orange and cherry notes. Floral slight bitterness. Grew on me towards the end

$3.99 for the 500mL bottle purchased from town. To oversized snifter, it pours a honeycomb amber with a sudsy, whitish head 1½. fingers in length. All bottles were covered in fair amount of dust, so buying this from the aisle in the first place worried me. But, I cleaned it off with a wet rag before popping its lid with a $.99 gas station lighter. Aromas of mildew, kilned malts, celery salt, algae, and leafy herbaceous. Tastes the same only with the addition of American hops, daisies and spent grain by mid-palate. Plastic, soybeans, and mold by swallow. Flavor lingers. I could definitely do without this again.
