THOUGHTS: Nice and malty, but not cloying. Rather British too. Nice, but nothing special. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a dark, reddish brown with a small, off-white head that mostly diminished and left fair lacing. The aroma was nice, but a little weak. There was grain and caramel malts, apple, red wine, slight alcohol, tea, slight bourbon and spices. The flavor started very sweet and finished sweet and a little bitter with an average duration. There was caramel malt, apple, cherry, slight alcohol, raisin, a little bit of metallic hops and maybe some spices. The medium body was a little oily with tingly carbonation and a metallic and lightly alcoholic finish.

500 ml bottle. Pours clear reddish-brown, with a moderate-sized, fluffy tan head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt with some apple candy. Flavor is rather candy-sweet, mostly brown sugar and caramel, with a hint of smoky malts. Fairly light body. Not bad, but could do with something to balance the sweetness.

Dark red body with a small white head. Malts mainly in the aroma. The flavor started out with some smoky taste, but mellowed to malts and carmels as it wamred.

50 cl bottle, Alko Helsinki. Ruby and clear beer, white lasting fluffy head. Sweet caramel-like and toffee aroma, almost sickly sweet. Likewise sweet flavor and, I dare, sticky mouthfeeling. Malty sweet and medium body. A bitter hint is maybe missing.

TAP: on nitrogen at the Happy Gnome (St. Paul, MN). Dark amber with the nitrogen cascade and foamy head. Very creamy. Sweet, almost no hop character. Love this beer.

Bottle. Dark ruby colour with a creamy off-white head. Sweet aroma with malts and yeast. The flavour is very sweet, caramel, malty and nutty with some spices.

Aroma is of sweet malt with apple and plum fruits. Quite grainy, with hints of bourbon. Flavours are what I describe as brothy. The flavours are much better than the aromas let on, with some chocolate and sweet malt, though a bit smoky and quite salty. Has a slightly savoury, musky finish. Bourbon tastes, with what seems to be oak and tobacco.
