Oct 1, 2008 500ml bottle. Clear reddish brown with off-white foamy head that thins quickly. Woody, raisin wine aroma. Bubbly, dry raisin wine cooler taste with a clean aftertaste. Very smooth, hides alcohol well but very light on taste. This is the 2nd bottle I’ve had and after having it on tap I expected much much more. It’s tap or nothing for this one.

Sep 30, 2008 Copper with a small white head. Bread, malt, caramel, dried fruits, chocolate. Great mouthfeel, almost creamy. Solid brew.

Sep 27, 2008 1pt+ bottle from Weavers Discount Liquors, Elkton, MD...dark brown ’cola’ colored pour, off-white head...sweet malty aroma with brown sugar and dark fruit...flavor included much of the same...I gave my pint glass a few second glances with this one...pleasantly surprised.

Sep 26, 2008 Pours a copper brown with a one finger frothy tan head. The nose is malty, bready, sweet, shows some alcohol, raisiny, peaty, a little earthy. The flavor is malty, has an alcoholic bite, sweet, earthy, lightly fruity, peaty. The palate is crisp and has some dry alcohol.

Sep 25, 2008 Clear medium orange-brown. Aroma is lightly malty (caramel), lightly hoppy (flowers, herbs), with a light note of plum, hint of smoke. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, creamy and velvety texture, lively carbonation.

Sep 22, 2008 16.9oz in bordeaux glass. Wow! I’m not usually a huge fan of the Scotch Ale. Lovely amber with lightish carbonation. Sweet and sour malt, light roasty nose. Big pale malt flavor with a splash of sour and bitter. Finishes clean with enough carbonic bite to match the mellow warming. Seems like stateside Wees are going over the top (Old Chub?), and this is down to earth and drinkable.
