Pours brown with a thin tan head that faded to a film after a quarter of the glass and left no lace. Pleasant aroma of malt with a bit of earthiness to it. The flavor is rich and malty, and improves as the beer warms. Some notes of whiskey begin to appear as the beer warms as well. In addition, there is a nice earthiness to the malt. A tad lighter on the palate than I was expecting for a "wee heavy," but otherwise a very solid and enjoyable beer. Bragesnak (2257), Aarhus, Denmark

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 10, 2008 Bottle - Had this awhile back in Virginia and just recently at the Dev 4th tasting. Nice amber reddish brown pour with some off white head and good lacing. The malted grains and full body English Ale flavor are what I like about this. Light hops, roasted barley with a subtle sweetness, good drinker. moseslikesbeer (183), conestoga, Pennsylvania, USA

Mostly brown color but a hint of red in there too. Nice off white head. Aroma of English malts (YUMMY) and a light hop aroma. Tasted like candy from a bottle. Very sweet and Caramel like. I noticed dark fruits in the taste. Belhaven makes some great brew. CHEERS!
