500 ml bottle from haukur at his tasting on 1 May 2008. Pour is amber-brown with a very thin off white head. Aroma of caramel (a bit burnt), smoked peat, and wet dirt. Taste is sweet toffee, mild peatiness. Good full palate. Nice one, takk Haukur.

Bottle from Market Street Wine Shop Downtown. Pours reddish brown with a medium head and decent lacing. Fruity caramel aroma. Taste of caramel, grain, fruity pebbles and aspartame. As weird as that sounds, it does seem to work somewhat. Very flavorful, but not that great.

Deep red with a minimal head. Aroma of sour red berries and malt. The flavor is fruity in an ale way, also has notes of herbs and grassy hobs.

Bottle. Deep red body with a thin head. Mostly biscuit and must with roasted malt. It starts with caramel malt overtones and finishes with a nice pepper spice and some prune.

typical scottish/english strone ale. Huge palate, very malty. Tiny hints of vanilla, some nuts, but overall malty and big. Not my style but this was good nonetheless

Bottle at the WBF in Raleigh. Nice off-white head, mahogany colored. Aroma is a very lovely blend of malts--caramel, faint chocolate, nuts, raisin. Flavor is similar, a little sucrose in aftertaste, but very smooth and tasty.
