Bottle. Deep reddish hue with a slightly light brown head, small. Aroma was sweet. Slightly toasted malt taste. As previously stated, great with a meal!

Belhaeven Wee Heavy is a great dinner beer. The appearance is a dark red with a pronounced head. The aroma is sweet and fruity, and the taste is very sweet with a nice malt flavor.

Clear, oxidized brown hue with a sandy, frothy head. The aroma begins full of treacle and malt, heavy on the sweets, before revealing less than inspiring watery coffee and broth-salty elements alongside a soft floral tone. Under that, doughy-sweaty smells with phenolic, plastic-y counterparts of equally unpleasant proportions. The plastic aroma seems to grow with time, along with some red currant fruitiness. The aroma is sweet and salty overall, not without faults, and light on the fruits. Sweet, sugary sweet, to begin, the flavour echoes the salty notes of the aroma and displays astringent, unclean malts. Going forward, a slim and dark fruitiness is offered, as is watered down coffee and sticky syrup. The finish tastes papery, feels old. Just over medium bodied with a sticky, almost creamy, texture and soft carbonation. Plastic and salty broth are rampant in this beer...pasteurization? 50cl bottle, bbe May 08.

On tap at the Muddy Pig in St. Paul. Dark rustic amber pour with very little head. The aroma is strong in nut and dark fruits. Strong maltiness and nut flavors with the dark fruit mixing well. I am interested to taste this from a bottle now.

Bottle: Pours a nice rusty amber with a wispy light tan head. Rich and sweet aroma. Lots of dark fruits; raisins, plums and prunes, along with toffee and coconut. Velvety texture. Rich fruity flavor, with a nice malt depth which gives off some toffee. Dark fruit flavors such as raisin, plums, toasted coconut and honey. The malt depth extends into the long sweet tasty finish. Well crafted and tasty.

Bottle as shown. Pours a dark amber color with a small off white head. The aroma is a sweet malt raisins and licorice. The taste is also a sweet malt and raisins. Very easy to drink, hides the alcohol well. A very good english strong ale from Belhaven

One of the greatest Wee Heavies out there. If it wasn’t for the gritiness of the mouthfeel it should be a 100 beer. A great thick maltiness with few hop distractions. Have yourself a Wee Heavy today. You won’t regret it.

Poured a reddish amber with a nice head that stood up well.Sweet smoky flavor, finishing with a malty, nutty after taste. Really loved it!
