Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Aug 17, 2007 Very good, quite different from the Belhaven St. Andrews Ale. I waver between which one of those two I prefer from this brewery. Both are good, drinkable beers. Not all beers need to be life-changing! jkoch (41), USA Aug 10, 2007 500ml bottle. Pours a deep brown with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma was malty with hints of whisky. Taste was caramel and a bit fruity. Slightly hoppy finish. Decent beer, but I thought it would have been better after receiving such high ratings. Hazmatt (363), Virginia, USA Aug 8, 2007 Draught, dark amber color. caramel cherry aroma. Heavy caramelization. Chocolate, malty, candy-like flavors. malty, malty. Good. BustedFlat (552), Edina, Minnesota, USA Aug 8, 2007 500ml bottle. English pint. Deep amber with a small head. Aroma was malt and dark fruit. Flavor was sweet malt and caramel with a smokey finish. Tranquillity (1165), Espoo, Finland Aug 7, 2007 Bottled. THIS is a fantastic beer. Dark brown with a thick head, beige to its colour. The aroma of toffee, sirup and chocolate, with a malty toastyness is great. The taste continues on the same theme. A phenomenal beer. nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Aug 5, 2007 500ml. Clear and dark brown-copper, with a medium and lasting head. Aroma is earthy, slightly astringent, spiced molasses. Flavor is deliciously the same with a touch of peppery caramel and chocolate. Barely noticeable smoke, gunmetal and alcohol in the dry aftertaste. Medium-bodied and rounded palate with some slight tingle on the dryish finish. Just a slight wateriness at the end that keeps it from being too thick; makes me want to keep chuggin’ this one. Excellent brew. DrZao (96), Houston, Texas, USA Aug 3, 2007 Nice ruby/mahogany color. Malt and cider in the aroma. Syrupy body, with big maltiness and not much else in the flavor. Hops are noticeable on the finish. Pretty, but a bit too sweet for me. donrajin (233), Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, USA Jul 31, 2007 This is one of only a few Wee Heavy’s I’ve tried, but this is the one that would give you what you would expect from this style. Plenty of body, caramel, flavor, color, and alcohol. A good sippin’ beer plain and simple.
