This is one of only a few Wee Heavy’s I’ve tried, but this is the one that would give you what you would expect from this style. Plenty of body, caramel, flavor, color, and alcohol. A good sippin’ beer plain and simple.

500ml bottle. aroma is sweet malt, and caramel. Flavour is again, big on the malt, and caramel, with slight apple notes, and sweet figs. Finish is quite malty, with a good hop kick. Really nice beer.

Pour was a deep and dark orange with no head. Aroma was roasted malt with thick stickiness. Taste was a thick and dark mix of caramel and roasted malt with dark fruit in there and a syrupy molasses finish. Good but not great.

Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of toasted malts from the start. Caramel and molasses flavors, very toasty. Flavors intensify substantially as the beer warms to room temperature. Good carbonation level and mouthfeel. Finish is slightly sweet, very toasty. Definitely serve this beer a little warmer than usual. Overall, it was a lovely way to end this weeks tasting.

Dark Brown Color with Red Hue and White Head. Dry Malty Aroma. Sweet Caramel, Toasted Notes...Creamy Mouthfeel. Dry Malted Afttertaste. Pretty Straightforward and Simple. Given the Ratings This Brew Has Gotten, I Hope I just Had a Bad Sampling of it...because As it Is, I Would Have to Say iit’s a Bit Overrated. Their Twisted Thistle is a much Better Offering From Belhaven.

malty, sweet aroma; caramel, licorice flavor; long sweet finish; very chewy ale; nearly a dessert ale; I’ll have this one again
