Pours a dark brown with a nice head which disappears quickly and leaves some lace. Pungent aroma of sweet malt, slightly sour like a Flemish ale. Very malty! Virtually no hop taste - just enough to sharpen the malt, more spicy than bitter. Much like a brown ale, but the body is not as milky - thick and chewy. Lingering malted aftertaste, sweet red grapes. A bit light on the carbonation. A very drinkable beer, would go well with a beef dinner, but it leaves me wanting for a bit more hops, though.

Strong abundant aroma is of sweet malts and honey. Deep amber brown color yet bright and clear. Sweet body and medium caramelyness not viscous as expected. A sppedy finsih with a sweet aftertaste that lingers just long enough to make you wish that you bought more than one.

Gorgeous deep-chestnut appearance with lively red highlights. Fruity aroma includes watermelon and summery red cherry, with a pleasant malt backbone. Low carbonation and mellow flavour, with subtle dark malt, chocolate milk and a sweet alcohol presence throughout. The aroma beats the flavour hands-down; the final impression is still good, though not great.

Pours dark red with a tan head. Aroma is of peat smoked malt and some crystal and chocolate malts. Flavor is like this but a bit smoky. Not like a rauchbier, but just a bit smoky. Hops take a well-deserved vacation with this one. Inspiring stuff.

500 mL bottle. Deep ruby-brown with decent head. Mild aroma of malt along with sweet chocolate and a bit of coffee. The taste is fairly complex, with all of the items mentioned in the aroma being found in the flavour. Add to that some sweet fruit (roasted apples) and something I can only describe as smokiness. Alcohol presence is perfect. No hops to speak of, but in this case, that’s okay.

Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma has a heavenly peated malt smell along with some roasted malts. Flavor is strong in the peated malt with some sweet caramel and bitterness to back it up.

500 ml bottle. Beautiful ruby colour, thick head. Very malty, creamy taste and feel, toffee:ish aftertaste. I’ll definitely have more of this in times to come!

Pours a very deep dark brown color with a medium amount of bubbly froathy offwhite head. Sweet malty slightly smokey earthy aroma. Flavor is very earthy malts, peaty smoke undertone, and slight floral hop finish. Overall, good sipping beer during a winter storm (current conditions).
