Poured dark brown with a small head that disappeared to a thin layer leaving a little lace. Tons of smoky peat and dark fruit in the aroma, which is quite full and creamy. It tastes like scotch, but drinkable and without the powerful kick. There is a good balance in the flavour with the sweetness supporting without dominating. A medium body and light carbonation have this sliding down very slickly. Very nice. (thanks to highlandlad for sharing this with me)

Black with deep mahogany highlights and a creamy, tan head. The aroma is dominated by butterscotch, with underlying hints of raisin. More sweetness in the body, mostly buttery caramel (diacetyl?), which blends nicely with some yeasty fruitiness. Appropriately dry finish leaves me wanting more.

Bottle in Florida. Reddish brown color with a full off-white head that was lasting and produced good lacing. Complex malty sweet aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Good sweet fruity flavor with a long pleasing finish.

Reddish-brown with a white head. Full aromas of dark malts, coffee, caramel, molasses, and peat. Good blend of toasty malts, light yeast and some hops. Starts with a slighty fruity sweetness and dark malts. Ends with a long finish and a sweet aftertaste. Full-bodied, but full of complex nuances in both taste and aroma.

A deep dark redbrown with firm head unbroken by excess bubbles. Notes of raisins and other dark fruits. Sweetish, heavy mouthfeel that is roasty and warming on the finish. Almost a cheeselike finish, guess that’s the yeast.

(Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful, dark reddish brown with a small, creamy head. Very malty and full-bodied with distinct nutty notes and a roasted/burned edge. Lovely quaffable winter warmer. 080303

Bottle. Sweet prune/raisin malt aroma with hops aroma coming out as it warms. Dark reddish brown color with moderate tan head. Sweet molasses malt flavor - like a lighter porter or stout. Mild bitter finish. Full creamy mouth feel but not too heavy.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber with an average size dissipating fizzy off-white head. Aroma of smoke, sweet malt, brown sugar and alcohol. Flavour follows the aroma. Body is smooth and creamy. Not one of my favourites but still enjoyable.
