A very smooth drinking beer with a medium-full and and velvety mouthfeel. Good balance of sweetness & bitter. Caramel, dark chocolate, licorice sweetness balanced with a smoky raisin mix. Nice flavorful finish witht the sweetness lingering somewhat.

From a 500ml bottle. Poured with a thin off white head. The beer is a nice rich dark brown caramel. A rich dark roasted malt aroma with a hint of coffee and chocolate. It has a nice creamy mouth feel. The overwhelming flavour is the dark malt but also a little smokey and maybe some caramel. A good beer for a cold evening.

Gorgeous dark brown color with a nice thick tan head. Very interesting smoke aroma with a hint of caramel and maybe a hint of cinnamon. Smoke is in the flavor is well which I really enjoy and this is nicely balanced out with molasses and caramel flavors. Solid beer from these guys.

Pours brown with tan head. Nose is very subtle and not very exciting. The flavor is very good. It begins with almost a barleywine flavor, strong medium caramel malt flavors with some apple overtones and some coffee. Ends with smoky peat moss and very little hops. Overall good

I found this one to be too weak and flowery, then malty and dry. Too thin and too much hoppiness, not enough carmel-roasted malt! Still overall it was decent. I prefer their regular scots ale.
