Dark brown with an ok head. Nicely malty with a goo bit of peat. Dark brown sugar and molasses. Seemed a little thin though.

Poured a dark reddish brown. Huge layer of tan head that recedes to a nice ring. Aroma is some smoke, nuttiness, scotch, and molasses. Flavor is sweet, molasses with some honey. Light amount of smokiness mixed in with some scotch and caramel. Creamy texture. No bite at the end, but is very pleasant to drink.

Stumbled into the bar of the Moon & Sixpence, Perth, for a warming pint to kill off the cold and noticed this one freshly stocked in their fridges. Poured into an English pint glass, a deep ruby reddish-brown body settled, quite clear, with a short steadfast beige head that left a light amount of lace. Only caught a whiff of bready yeast and toasted malt before my friends drowned me in cigarette smoke. Deep, rich and soothing flavours of ripe dark fruit, raisins and prunes, with a balance of lightly toasted malt and bready yeast, which follows through to a lightly malty, bitter and dry back and medium length fruit-cake malty swallow. A nice sipping beer in small portions, sometime between pints of 60/-at any pub lucky to serve it. Pint after pint, a nice drop that got better as it warmed. Sweet as!!!

It had a roasted malt aroma but the rest of it seemed a bit too thin for its moniker. I felt it was a bit too much on the wee watery side but malty enough to make it en enjoyable beer.
