Medium foamy beige-brown head, short lasted though. Sweet malty aroma with hints of coffee/roasted grains in it. Nice malty flavour with a bitter aftertaste, hint of chocolate and roasted grains in there. Mouthfeel was smooth, could of been a bit more full though. Not worth the price IMO. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 5, 2008 500 ml bottle. Pours brown with a thin tan head that faded to a film after a quarter of the glass and left no lace. Pleasant aroma of malt with a bit of earthiness to it. The flavor is rich and malty, and improves as the beer warms. Some notes of whiskey begin to appear as the beer warms as well. In addition, there is a nice earthiness to the malt. A tad lighter on the palate than I was expecting for a "wee heavy," but otherwise a very solid and enjoyable beer. mar (1981), Dallas, Texas, USA
