| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 29, 2006 Wonderful burgundy red colour with nice off-white to beige head. Aromas range from smoke to cranberries with hints of caramel and toffee. The taste is more centred around the smoke, but a creamy mouthfeel makes that appear great. Some nuts (sweet ones) a touch of alcohol and some citric zest at the end... bu11zeye (5731), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 22, 2008 16.9oz bottle-pours a light tan head and red color. Aroma is sweet medium malt-caramel/brown sugar, dark fruit-cherry. Taste is sweet medium malt-caramel/brown sugar, peat, dark fruit-cherry, balanced/secondary spicy/earthy hops with some bite which offsets the sweetness. Later more herbal comes through. Not quite my taste but nicely done. Rastacouere (5565), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 11, 2004 Clear brown rum apperance. Very big beige head tops it nicely. It’s fairly mild on the nostrils, but has pretty much everything I expect from a scotch ale. It’s caramelic, butterscotchey, faintly smokey with traces of berries or melon. Leather notes on the palate, refreshing from a moderately small malt acidity. Slight vegetal oil touch. It’s well done for a beer that is mostly about caramel malt interplays. Just lighter than I expected and the thin-medium body could be fuller, especially with that rather high carbonation. Good Magicdave6 (5560), London, Greater London, England
