A beautiful ruby color with a foamy tan head. An interesting scent that remins me of the "Hot Toddy Mix" I used to sneak bites of as a child. Earthy, floral & honey notes. Sweet, with plenty of malt, pear, peat, treacle and mild smoke. Quite tasty! A very nice Scottish Ale.

Mahoganey colored body with a big white head. Peat malt, aroma with a slight sour note. Sweet, dry with somkey undertones. Nice lacing all the way down. Improves as it warms

Bottled. Pours Brown with a reddish hue. Tan head. Malt-bomb aroma with some spicy notes. Thick, creamy mouthfeel with caramel, chocolate and malt flavors. Spicy-sweet aftertaste.

500ml brown bottle. Ruby coloured, tan head is thick. Aroma of sweet malt with a little bit of zesty hops. Medium bodied, dark malt taste melds well with hops. A trace of alcohol and bittereness in the finish.

Black with deep mahogany highlights and a creamy, tan head. The aroma is dominated by butterscotch, with underlying hints of raisin. More sweetness in the body, mostly buttery caramel (diacetyl?), which blends nicely with some yeasty fruitiness. Appropriately dry finish leaves me wanting more.

Dark amber-brown body with a fine creamy tan head. Toasty caramel, candy and some fruity character in the nose. Toasted caramel malt rules the medium body with some bittery roasted flavor of grains. Well hidden alcohol, some sweet fruity flavor lurks behind the bready malt. Well balanced, fine and drinkable ale.

This beer definitely tastes better when it warms a bit. Color is a bit light. Malty and chewy are the positives. It does lack, however, some of the toasty malty goodness found in others. But what do I know, this is a Scottish Ale that has been around for many years.

Medium Amber, malty, nutty, bready, little dark fruit, little caramel, little corn, little alcohol, slight coffee, slight chocolate, dry finish.
