Good appearance, nice beige head that dissipates into a light film. Not much lacing. Aroma was there, but weak. Notes of spice, sugar, caramel and light cocoa & cinnamon. Rich toasty malts in the flavor that fade into caramel pralines, with a bitter, highly carbonated hops finish. Fair mouth feel, could end a bit smoother. Not bad.

ne of my favorites. Gets better as it warms, which is good because it’s 6.5 ABV and comes is a large bottle.

Bottle poured into pint glass- poured dark red/ dark copper color, small off white head. Aroma of heavy malt. Hits the mouth with a full medium body, malt with a cream note, smooth finish. Good for sipping.

Great scotsh ale with the color of african hardwood,(dark-brown with red shine). It has a small airy head and the smell is rich and malty with hints of nuts, marzipan and dried fruits. It has a rich and full mouthfeeling with nice maltyness and a good selection of fine hops that gives more backbone to this great brew.

Bottle as shown. Pours a dark amber color with a small off white head. The aroma is a sweet malt raisins and licorice. The taste is also a sweet malt and raisins. Very easy to drink, hides the alcohol well. A very good english strong ale from Belhaven

Clear ruby/brown. Decent head and lace. Nose of caramel, peat, toffee, burnt sugar and more. Medium bodied, bit syrupy, heavy smoke/peat, which provides slight sourness, dark, toffeish malts, not too sweet, nice slight bitterness and a almost dry, lingering with peat finish. Good brew.

Enjoyable scotch ale that shows caracter and restraint. Malty but not too sweet. Full bodied, thick in the mouth but not oily. A bit peaty, maybe a touch of iodine. Pleasant.
