Sweet toasted malt nose, mohagany color, rocky head. Cherry fruitiness comes immediately to mind - like fruit punch at times. Very little hop character or bitter. Very full mouth with round soft edges. Pretty smooth.

Kind of a band aid nose. Smokey taste, but also sweet / in a good balance though. Smooth what is suprisingly / medium aftertaste with bitter tones.

Lightly sweet, caramel aroma, beautiful dark amber in color with even head ... bittersweet start with a light hoppy spike in the middle, settles in to a nice smokey/malty finish. A unique blend of flavors, indeed ... would drink again without hesitation.

Malty sweetness dominates the aroma with hints of caramel and dark smokey fruit. Flavor is sweet smoked malt with a little buttery caramel. This ale is a little thiner than what I was expecting. I do like the much heavier mouth feel of McEwans, but that does not make this bad, just makes it easy to drink a few more.

Pours dark brown with ruby color. Large thick, beige frothy head with very good lacing. Aroma is smoky, roasted toffee and hops. WOW!! Very smooth and tasty with a creamy mouth feel. Flavor is not as sweet as aroma suggests (which I like). Some alcohol flavor on the finish but otherwise, surprisingly delicious overall. Definitely an interesting ale.

Medium size rocky tan/white head. Clear, beautiful amber/red brew.Malty, fruity, baked bread nose. Med/full body, creamy mouthfeel. Not overly sweet. Grainy malt flavor, clean, faint roastiness with some smoke also. Finish is medium sweet. Well balanced brew.

The aroma was a nice malt with a slight diacetyl. Nice amber brown color with great head retention. The flavor was malty, slightly smokey with a nice mild buttery flavor. Nice med body, a very good wee heavy that I will be drinking again. The nice thing with this version is that I can enjoy a few more since the alcohol is not too high for a wee heavy.

Nothing to notible in the aroma. The flavor is a nice blend of caramel, coffee, and a mild leather. This is much more drinkable then most wee heavys that I have had.

Wow was this good. Copper colour nice frothy head that discipates kind of quickly but leaves a good amount of lacing on the glass. Good amounts of caramel but still kind of sweet and (rusty?). Very pleasent to drink with a somewhat bitter finish. Easily drinkable.

Clear copper body with big tan head. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, anise, currant/plum. Taste is quite sweet, caramel, light anise, finishing smoky. Medium body.
