Deep red/brown colour with a thick but diminishing off-white creamy head. Caramel, toffee, and slight alcohol aroma. Caramel and buttery flavour with a dry, tangy, astringent bitter finish. Medium bodied dry mouthfeel.

earthy. I like the look of it, I like the feel of it. the malt/hops balance is definitely more on the malt side, though not unbalanced with notes of licorice and earth. good stuff.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Beautiful clear ruby body with a very nice tan head. Aroma is very creamy butterscotch with notes of chocolate chip cookie dough (how's that for a technical term?). What awesome flavors, butterscotch and caramel. Body is medium and very smooth. A very fein brew indeed. This would be heavenly pulled out of a firkin on a cold rainy Scottish evening.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
A beer style that I truly enjoy, but unfortunately this particular Scottish Ale missed the mark with me. It poured a large sized creamy ivory head with fine-medium sized bubbles that was mostly lasting. The body was uncarbonated with a reddish-brown hue. The nose was malty, notes of caramel and butter. The flavor was slightly bitter and sour with a fore and aftertaste to it. The mouthfeel was smooth and medium bodied. This beer left a spider web like lacing.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
This brew poured a very large head of fine to medium sized mostly lasting light brown colored bubbles that left behind a semi-opaque dark brown colored slightly carbonated body and great lacing. The aroma of this brew is very mild and almost non-existant. It is so faint I cannot describe it accurately. The mouthfeel is smooth with a slight "Brown" bber finish. The flavor is somewhat thin but good. It just needs more character. I can taste some sweet malt and and a hint os smoke but I need more than it has to give it higher numbers.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep amber color, thick off white head. Lots of caramel, buttery toffee, and malt in the aroma and flavor. Hints of smoke, quite sweet. Very smooth and easy to drink. Could drink quite a bit of it and not get bored.
