2/17/13. Clear 500mL bottle from Grassroots. Murky brown amber pour with a nice khaki head that fades to a soapy foam ring with spotty lacing. Lots of maltiness in the aroma with tons of caramel, butterscotch, brown sugar, and sweetness. Rich, sweet flavor (not overwhelming), with bread, caramel, brown sugar, and barely a wisp of smoke on top of burnt caramel. Nice!

Bottle from Rema1000, Hammel DK. Clear dark golden colour with a light brown head. Aroma is malt with a note of caramel. Taste is malts and caramel without bitterness. Too sweet in the finish.

Any rating system for food and drink will be quite subjective. So it is with this one. While reading the reviews I have to wonder if the reviewers were talking about the same beer. I found the Wee Heavy to be a full bodied ale with a great flavor. The after taste reminds me of a good single malt Scotch whiskey, another of my favorites. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sigmund (4166) - Tau, NORWAY - FEB 16, 2013
500 ml clear bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 6.5%. Drunk a bit too cold. Ruby colour, moderate off-white head. Nice malty aroma, notes of caramel and treacle, a hint of oak and mild spices. Malty and sweet flavour, low bitterness. Strong notes of caramel and treacle. Quite nice beer, if you want to satisfy your sweet tooth.

0,5 l bottle kindly shared by Sigmund. ABV is 6,5%. Clear deep amber-orange body with a fingerthick dense light brown head. Rock sugar, raisins, vanilla, malts and notes of hops on the nose. Heavy sweet, malty and medium bitter. Full bodied. Pungent.

EtTuCthulhu (396) - Columbia, Missouri, USA - FEB 12, 2013
The aroma of this beer is overwhelmingly skunky, and the appearance is mahogany with a minimal and fleeting white head. The taste is quite sour and slightly salty, and the palate combines a thin texture, a medium body, a soft carbonation, and a slightly astringent finish.

Dark caramel brown. Caramel and brown sugar aromas. Palate is syrupy and malt-forward with caramel and fruitcake flavors.

zenkis (257) - Ogre, LATVIA - FEB 2, 2013
Pours dark amber with white-off small top. Aroma - candy, mild sweet fruity. Taste is pleasant light sweetish, bitter. Hopped well, but not overwhelming. Flavor reminds me more amber ale. Astringent a bit, dry, hopped finish. Mild maturation. Very not bad. Funny thing was that taste of this ale didn’t appear to me from first sip, it opened gradually.

Pours a clear reddish dark amber with a one inch creamy off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is rich, fruity, and nutty. Taste is sweet and fruity with caramel and brown sugar. Very nice.

caramel, roasty, red, clear, minimal head, light sweetness, lightly bitter, full body, oily feel, lively, abrupt. Drinkable - another one to be savoured and not drunk in large quantities.
