This brewery does itself a real disservice by putting the beer in clear bottles as this one skunked out. From what I could tell there was a sweet malty aroma laying beneath. The color was amber with a white foamy head. The taste was more sweet caramelized malts with a burnt sugar tinge on the back end. I can always detect the alcohol with this style even when it’s as low as this one. I’m sure this would have been better had it not skunked; however, it still seemed average for the style.

Bottle - Pours deep amber/brown, thick white fluffy head, good lacing. Aroma of sweet malts and licorice. Caramel, rich dark roasted grains, brown sugar. Malty, but a good hops presence that completes this ale.

Bottle from Alko. Pours dark amber with white one-finger head. Sweet dried fruits and complex sweet maltiness in the nose. Taste is sweet. Bitterness is very moderate. Body is complex maltiness and despite the sweetness, I’d call it balanced. Moderate carbonation. Sweetness and full body is well supported by the strong alc.%.

Bottle, 330ml, shared with JFK10000. Pours clear dark amber with beige head. Roasted malts, bit bready, caramel, some dried fruit. Not bad, but unfortunately too sweet for me.

Täysin kirkas, läpinäkyvä olut vaahtoaa melko vähäisesti. Tuoksussa makeaa maltaisuutta, jännää rusinamaista otetta varsin runsaasti ja hedelmää. Maku hedelmäinen, runsaan makean maltainen, marjainen ja hieman pähkinäinen. Makeus menee vähän överiksi.

330ml bottle. Dark brown body, pretty much crownless. Fruit, toffee, hint of smoke and vineous notes in the aroma. Flavor follows the same path, but with a bit more fruityness and some bitterness.

Caramel and malt notes. Deep brown with a fast fading head. More caramel and perhaps a touch of clove with a sweet presence. Medium bodied with a sweet finish.

Bottle from Alko. Pours dark amber color with tan head. Aroma is sweet, malty and has some dark fruits. Taste is very sweet, soft, malty and the alcohol is very well hidden. What a great beer!
