Bottle B&M, Hawick. Lovely looking beer, clear, deepish amber, good thick head, nice lacework. Big and full flavoured, sweetish malt to the fore, long lingering finish. Lovely beer!

Couleur ambrée, légère mousse beige. Super nez caramel mou, sucre candy. Gout caramel brulé, fruits noirs, notes chocolat. Corps presque cremeux, longue fin de bouche avec tout les aromes....

"bigger than the 6.5% implies...this one IS a scottish classic. perfect fit to the style. I like 7-9% scotch ales, but this one is pretty stinkin’ good!"

The beer is rather good, but the aroma is lacking and the bitterness is too intense, won’t buy it again

500ml bottle poured in a Chimay chalice. That’s that first time that I taste a Wee Heavy Ale, very good surprise in all the aspects. A: Pours a just wonderful dark reddish-amber color. Clear and impressive. The head is medium with not much retention. Some lacings are left around S: Very whiskey. Caramel malts. Wood. Sweet and toffee. T: Taste is pretty much like the nose. Strong taste of whiskey and caramel malts. M: Medium body. Molasses. Medium carbonation. Light sweet and nice bitter aftertaste O: Delicious and classic "British" Ale. Strongly recommended [ BA Review @ 11/14/2009 ]

Hazy deep red/brown color, average sized off white head. Some lacing. Aroma of dark fruits, wood, caramel, roast and chocolate. Medium body, soft carbonation. Dry finish. Very nice

Pours a dark reddish brown. Aroma and taste are caramel, brown sugar, and some dark fruits.

Has a noticeable wheaty taste, so like soggy bread. But I did like it even though I’m not usually a fan of that sort of thing. I would drink it again!

33cl bottle from 5e Mondial de la Bière, Mulhouse (labeled strength 7,4%). Slightly syrupy tawny-brown pour, decent off-white head. Contained in aroma, some old prune marmelade and a restrained maltiness maybe. More prune marmelade, caramelised pineapple in taste, without much extras added by the yeast profile, late cleansing hops, semi-dry. Lcklustre peat in the finish, leaving an overall imprssion of a mediocre effort. Decent, quaffable enough, without offering quite the whole payoff for its Abv.

Pours a dark brown with a thin, off-whte head. Not much on the aroma. Taste is dominated by roasted malts. It has a deep and complex taste profile. Body is thich, almost syrupy. Carbonation is very low. This is a very enjoyable beer, but I suspect my bottle was old due to lack of head and carbonation.
