moseslikesbeer (166), conestoga, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 7, 2008 Bottle. Here is one I thought got lost in the shuffle at our last tasting. Mostly brown color but a hint of red in there too. Nice off white head. Aroma of English malts (YUMMY) and a light hop aroma. Tasted like candy from a bottle. Very sweet and Caramel like. I noticed dark fruits in the taste. Belhaven makes some great brew. CHEERS!
Hinez57 (112), Clinton, Mississippi, USA Aug 19, 2008 Malty sweet nose with hints of earthiness and peanut brittle. Beautiful amber color more red than orange with decent sized slightly off white head. Nice flavors of mild nuttiness, sugars of all types especially light ribbon cane syrup, prominent caramel and toffee flavors. Nice balance of fruityness, dark fruits. Suprisingly similar to a Belgian Dubbel. Nice full mouthfeel and lingering sweetness on the finish. This doesn’t disappoint. If you like em malty bring on the Belhave WH! Mmmmm this is a drinkable bier with a complex malt profile. jujubeast6000 (471), Houston, Texas, USA Aug 12, 2008 (bottle): Pours a strong brown body, clear. Good sized head, off-white & creamy. Okay lacing. Flowery aroma, but not like the sweetness of a Belgian. Almost dusty-like, with some kind of spice. Some nuttiness. That same dusty spice. Some clove, maybe almost banana. Enjoyable, very drinkable. The flavor makes me want more. Banana & spice on the finish. nhamilton (10), Cibolo, Texas, USA Aug 10, 2008 Has the aroma of carmel or perhaps honey when opened. Pours smoothly with a tan medium size head. Very smooth taste with the right touch of carbination. beerbill (1243), Laurel, New York, USA Aug 5, 2008 500 ml bottle. Pours brown with a thin tan head that faded to a film after a quarter of the glass and left no lace. Pleasant aroma of malt with a bit of earthiness to it. The flavor is rich and malty, and improves as the beer warms. Some notes of whiskey begin to appear as the beer warms as well. In addition, there is a nice earthiness to the malt. A tad lighter on the palate than I was expecting for a "wee heavy," but otherwise a very solid and enjoyable beer. Bragesnak (1134), Aarhus, Denmark Aug 3, 2008 From Superbest, Aarhus, DK.
Bottled.
Dark reddish brown with some head. Aroma of caramel and alcohol. Flavor of malt and some fruit notes
