Belikin Beer is brewed in the classic continental European lager style. Belikin uses Canadian Pilsner malt in combination with a blend of German hops to create the perfect malt-hop balance for our flagship. Since December 13, 1971 the original recipe has called for a lengthy fermentation and lagering to allow the yeast to create its full conditioning. This full-bodied beer with a medium golden colour is delightful any time of the day.

Drunk in orange walk on a backpacking trip most beers taste OK in the steamy heat of Belize pours light gold and tastes pretty bland but a good trust quencher they do a belkien stout which was a lot nicer offering.

Yay country ticks... And thanks after4ever for sharing! Pours a dark golden color with almost no head on it. Nose has corn notes to it, but generally smells old and awful. Taste is slightly sweet with grains throughout, and is nothing you’d want to drink regularly.

Pours a clear golden with a quickly disappearing head. Nose is pale malts and some yeastiness. The flavor is light breadiness and malt sweetness with a light long lingering stale bitterness. Not very good but still refreshing on a hot tropical day at the beach!

330. Thanks, B! I mean, thanks for the country. Not so sure I’m grateful for the drinking experience. Pours a slightly hazy medium gold with cloudy edges. Scant filmy white head. Smells breathtakingly bad, though not greatly different from most other corn adjunct lagers. Smells like cheap corn that got heated up and then fermented--i.e., like warmed-over 6-month-old garbage. Vegetal and putrid. Fizzy, watery mid palate. Canned artichokes, rotten cabbage, and corn nuts on the mid palate. Chemically finish. Blecch.

[6576-20140808] Bottle. Toasted dusty straw and plastic aroma. Clear, pale yellow body with a quick foamy white head. Plastic toasted grainy straw flavour. Light-medium body. Poor. (2/2/2/2/7) 1.5

"a decent (ie-not horrible) palate, with minimal offensiveness. A little corn/cereal sweetness, a hint of grass, and not a whole lot else. Not bad for a pale lager, but not exactly good either."

Bottle shared by Travlr at the DC Summer Saison & Sour Tasting, 7/12/14. Pours a clear golden color with a thin white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of honey and meaty notes. The taste is tart fruits, non-descript malts. Thin bodied. Fairly poor.

[My bottle (284ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jercraigs & mabel] Pours a slightly hazy, very pale yellow-gold with a small frothy white head. Aroma and flavour are papery, vegetal and grassy. Light bodied. Not as offensive as the beer from Guatamela we just had but still not very good.

284ml bottles and on draft a couple of times in Belize. Very clear golden colour with thin head. Aroma is of weak hops and grass. Taste....well there isn’t much there unsurprisingly. Just very watery with weak grassy Malta. As others have said, good enough on the beach but not one to have at home!

Canadian pilsner malt represent. Had many a bottle of this before I realized that Barrel rum was a definite superior choice on Caye Caulker. Nonetheless Central America had many worse, and Belikan was good enough at Lounge Lizard bar by the rift. Thanks for reminding me of this beer, Travlr.
