2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Papsoe (22946) - Frederiksberg, - MAY 26, 2007
(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of my colleague Jeppe who was kind enough to bring this with him back home - in his dirty socks... Pours a clear, pale golden with a dense, white head leaving some lacework. Good, malty nose. Very thin and watery though with basically no hops. 100507
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 DruncanVeasey (5138) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAY 12, 2012
2011..ahem, vintage with some exotic detritus swirling around in the bottle. Pours straw with a high, well-retained, lacing white foam. Slight pine, fenugreek, raffia and lime aroma. Decent, bizarrely oaked-like vanilla sweetness on the palate, with pine. Grassy, soft and lightly buttered. Perfectly decent and free of adjunct notes. But does score a bonus point for listing ’permitted stabilisers and correctives’ on the ingredients list. Mmmm permitted stabilisers and correctives. Not so scared of the detritus now.
2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 10, 2012
500ml Brown bottle drank during a German and lager tasting evening ( Aug 2011).
The beer stood up well against some better known German Pilsners and Exports.
It looked the typical lager/pilsner, very pale gold, clean and clear, on top the white head you’d expect.
The smell was of grains with a slight malt sweetness becoming stronger as the cold beer began to warm a little in the glass.
Regular crisp lager/pilsner feel and taste, the blend of hops and barley giving a refreshing, if uninspiring flavour to the brew.
Would never have known it wasn’t a European lager/pilsner, so well done to who ever over sees the brewing.
Better than your average lager (just).

500 ml bottle in Sudan. Pours a pale golden color with a small white head. Aroma is a weak watery malt. The taste of this beer is better than most of the other pale lagers in East Africa (if that says much). Palate is light and non offensive.
