Aroma of fruits and hazelnuts. Bright brown body with decent head if poured aggressively, and when warm enough. Flavour is soft booth leather and cherries mixed with paint thinner. Dry finish. Really not bad for the style; reliable and has some twists, but it doesn’t stand out.

Bouteille 341 ml. 5.2%. Couleur ambrée claire. Arôme de céréales et de caramel. Goût de malt grillé, léger caramel et un peu de houblon. Finale très légère en amertume. Se boit bien.

Pours bright red with a creamy head on it. Sweet malty aroma, lots of vienna and crystal in this one. Sweet malty flavour, it kind of sucks.

La couleur est ambrée et aucune mousse n’est observée. Les arômes et les saveurs sont ceux des grains maltés et de très fins houblons. Présence somme toute agréable en bouche, sans complexité et sans prétention. La finale est appropriée pour le style avec une apparition du malt qui s’harmonise avec une douce amertume.

Pours deep amber into a shaker. Bright white head recedes to mottle surface. Caramel and resin aromas. Dry from front to back with caramel.

341 mL Bottle sampled Dec 24, 2009. Amber body with a fast-disssipating bubbly head. Sweet syrupy aroma of malt, crystal malt, notes of brown sugar and treacle. This one is a bit sweet for my liking; sweet malts dominate, the aftertaste and finish are like demerara sugar. It struggles to make a good impression.

Sourish fruit toffee aroma with a touch of cinnamon. Clear orangish, dark brown under a thin, off-white cover. Nutty toffee flavour with a little raisin, sweet brown sugar and low bitterness. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, slightly tangy finish.

Bouteille de 341 ml dégustée au restaurant Les Cabotins (Montréal, QC). Arôme: Légère odeur de caramel avec une pointe de fumée. Apparence: La couleur est ambrée avec une faible densité de bulle. Présence d’un mince col mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de caramel avec une pointe d’houblons. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement huileuse. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Légère présence de caramel en arrière goût. (Rating #2673)
