COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by the 18th century London porterhouse recipe, Power Plant is our interpretation of this classic English style Dark beer. Six of malted barley combine to produce a full bodied, sweet beer with mild hop hop flavor and subtle hints of chocolate and coffee. One glass of Power Plant and you'll be electrified!

Dark pour, nice medium head and lace. Nice chocolate and coffe flavor, with some buttery roasted notes. A bit of dryness at the end. A bit low on carb and mouthfeel, but a solid brew, one of the better local Oklahoma brews. Reminds me of a Left Hand Milk Stout.

[Tap] Pours a very dark shade of brown with no head to it at all. Aroma of roasted grains, hints of smoke and quite a bit of butterscotch. The taste is mellow and roasted, but has that underlying buttery character that is quite distracting and not true to style. Roasted malts, light coffee and brown sugar round out the rather simple flavor profile. Average mouthfeel and carbonation. This beer really isn’t too bad, but it gets a bit boring towards the end. Still the most flavorful thing I’ve had so far from this brewery though.

(Draught) Pours a murky dark brown body with a small cream head. Aroma of mustiness, cocoa, and roasted malt. Flavor of roasted malt, spoiled veggies, cocoa, light coffee, and grass.

The best by far. Dark brown with almost no head. Good deep roasted grain and coffee aroma. Roasted grain milk chocolate notes and a smooth coffee finish. Good.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a garnet hue. Has a decent head which leaves a nice lacing . Smells of roasted nuts and malts. Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. Has a mild roasted malt taste with a hint of milk chocolate. A pretty robust ale considering the 3.2% abw. Oct 2004

Had a very metallic and strange aroma that hit right after the roasted malt. REALLY hurt the flavor by being thin. Uninteresting and just a notch above a drainpour.

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2006 A good toasty beer, with lots of chocalote and some espresso (but not as much as some porters). --- Added later: I have noticed the quality varies a good bit of late. My most recent tasting was dissapointing. Maybe I just had a bad pint.

Medium dark cola colored brown with some light transmitted through the bottom half of the glass. Sweet aroma of caramel, coffee grounds and molasses... syrupy and sweet nose with hints of maple. Mildly hoppy bite up front, light flavor of gritty cold coffee, roasted wood and charred malts... almost smoky. A decent porter... gets a little dull towards the end of the glass, so it lost points there, but the way I see it, a duck is a duck, so you can’t knock a beer just because most of the brewers other offering are mediocre. This one is decent enough to order again.
