Commercial Description:
The classic American wheat is brewed with 50/50 balance of malted barley and wheat, combined with Northern Brewer and Mount Hood hops. The result is a hearty but smoother golden ale that pours with a tall head of foamy wheat. Served with a lemon Wild Mary's Wheat is sure to be a favorite.

Sampled on draft at Belle Isle. Pours clear yellow-gold with no head. Aroma is mild and resembles Pledge cleaner. The hefe yeast (banana & clove) dominate the flavor to the exclusion of practically all others. Light-bodied and lightly carbonated. Too simple.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a cloudy yellow hue with a slight head. Has a spicy sweet malt smell. Light to medium bodied with nice carbonation. Taste is of sweet tart malts and spices.I’m kind of surprized no one has reviewed any brews from here, they’re pretty good, considering we’re in the middle of a craft beer desert.May 2003

(Tap) Pours a hazy golden color, with a small amount of head. Only a faint hefe character. Slightly sour (not unlike the rest of their beers). Very light body. Another disappointment.

A wheat beer disguised as a pilsner, I cannot taste the difference in hops between any of the beers produced at Belle Isle except for their IPA which tastes like grass. Again fairly dissapointing.

Draft at the brewpub: not sure this is the correct place for this rating. This beer poured a cloudy yellow with just a wisp of a small white head. Light aroma of yeast. Flavor is light banana with a hint of lemon. The finish is what killed this beer. Lots of corn. Way too much corn.
