UPDATED: FEB 4, 2014 A lambic with a touch of apricot. Tastes like a perpetual battle between sweet and sour, though without a clear winner.

25cl-fles bij Marie & David. Merci! U: wazig koperkleurig met een oranje toets. Ivoorkleurige schuimkraag. G: Melkzurig, maar niet uitgesproken. Ook wat zoetigs (suiker?) S: Weinig zuur, karamel, gist. Overmatig zoet. M: Plakkerige nasmaak. Carbonatie aan de lage kant voor een geuze.

250ml bottle from Beers of Europe online. Amber colour with a white foam head leaving lacing. Aroma of grains, mellow fruit, funk. Taste is sweet, malt, tangy, caramel, lactic, with some fruity, woody and sour notes. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry finish. OK.

0.33 bottle. A clear, dark copper color with a small, off-white head. Aroma is primarily yeasty with pale malts, and some fruits - alright. Taste is sour, yeasty, and fruity - apples first and foremost. A light to medium body, a slick texture, and a lively carbonation. Finish is medium long, rather sour and not entirely bad. Overall the beer is alright but not much of a gueuze.

Bottle, best before 3rd of september 2016. Dark orange with low, clear white head. Aroma of sourness, malts, and oak/wood. Taste is sour-sweet, wood, malts. The composition makes the whole beer feel somewhat off. Have been more impressed with other Belle-Vue beers.

Bottle of 25cl, in a Kriek glass; from the fridge. It’s an usual beer, with a light, sweet gueuze taste, with no long taste nor after-taste. The colour is clear golden, with a light white head. Boarf.

F: average, off-white, not long lasting. C: deep gold to amber, clear. A: malty, light woody, sour, honey, hint of floral. T: malty, fruity sourness, woody, hint of honey, light coriander and orange peels, moderate body, good carbonation, Lambic style but probably “macro”, but still drinkable and refreshing, 5,5% ABV, 0,25l bottle from Delhaize in Brussels.

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2016 Pours a clear amber with a small frothy white head. Not a strong aroma on pouring but does develop an orange peel and musty malt smell. A light caramel sweetnesss with some sour malt tones. A bit light and thin.

Bottle, vintage 1981. Pours clear golden, with no head. Aroma is sweet dark fruits, wood and cellar notes. Medium body, with no carbonation. Flavour is dark fruity liqueur notes, raisins, wooden notes. Very drinkable for a 35 year old beer, but more interesting than good, really.
