COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "Belle-Vue Oude Lambik" and anything less than 6 months-old under "Belle-Vue Jonge Lambik".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik".

Mittelsaurer Essigantrunk, sehrunangenehm. Penetrant, dies weicht erst im Nachgeschmack, der unendlich fern scheint. Zudem unkontrolliert sauer und beißend. Test vom 30.5.2007, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 9,7,7,8,-,7 - 7,36

(Draught, Jan 2009 vintage) Pours a lightly hazy yellow body with no head. Aroma of wort, earth, and subtle citrus. Flavor of earth, wort, and light citrus tartness.

Muddy, dull tan. The aroma is heavy on the pedio with little else. Tart, rustic, sweet on the finish. Some moderate pedio throughout.

WSF. Hazy gold and flat. Heavily pedio, a bit overwhelming, with some lactic acid to boot. Smooth, silky and flat palate. Acidic. The pedio is there in the flavors too, but it does taste better than it smells. Flavors include odd stuff like banana skin. Finishes dry and fruity.

Clooudy yellow with no head. Weak funk and sulphur aroma. Tart malty flavour with grainy notes and a hint of sulphur.

Draught @ WSF. Looks like a wheat beer with no head. Smells like hay and dill. Tastes of pickle juice and tobacco, slightly tart and sour. Notes suggest I would not drink this again, even for free.

Hazy yellow of color, no head. An aroma of citrus, sour and acid. A sour flavor with notes of citrus and hints of wet dog.

Draught@The weekend Of Spontaneous Fermentation. Leafy, citric and not overly complex, some slight metallic and rubbery notes come through, but they don’t stand out so much as to ruin the beer. One of the few Belle-Vue products that i’d actually consider drinking again.

On tap @ the Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation 2007. Hazy and yellow in colour. Notes of citrus, wood, acid and vinegar. Quite refreshing.
