Strong cherry juice aroma and flavor. Very sweet and syrupy, some vanilla. Hurts your teeth, but in fact the taste is not too bad, especially if you like cherry lemonade.

jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - JAN 19, 2004
Very much cherry aroma. Too much actually. Dark red color, pink head, good lace. Very very sweet, thick, cherry. Too sweet, too thick, too much cherry, too little oak (none), no tartness at all.

Clear dark red color, medium pink head. Aroma of artificial cherries. Sweet sirupy taste of cherry. Sticky palate.

skortila (4160) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - NOV 23, 2003
Chery nose, sweet. Chemical. Quite strong. Very red coloured with an off-white head. Taste is sweet. Cherries in it. Very artificial with an ugly sticky palate.

diabel (1537) - Aarschot, BELGIUM - NOV 20, 2003
Deep red colour, pink rapidly-vanishing head. Sweet aroma, something like cherry-marmelade. As Joris also claims this is sweet and syropy. I can perceive some sour flavours, but I don't like this beer at all. I'm happy I bought only one bottle.

JorisPPattyn (6724) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - AUG 23, 2003
(Draught - from memory) Deep-garnet red; lavish pinkish-brown head. Nose of cherries, sweet syrup - not much. In comparison to the usual, more syrupy in mouthfeel, but not in taste. Still very sweet cherryflavour on the edge of artificial - natural, and of overripe cherries, but with a surprising woody background, very unusual for Belle Vue products. Moutfeel is very well-bodied, chewy texture. Not refreshing at all. The difference (with usual BV kriek) would situate itself in about 60% more fruit used - says the representant. It remains a terribly sweet, pseudo-fruitlambic, but if its your only choice, it's a godsend compared to the usual stuff.
