Bottle from 1995 at Kulminator, Antwerp. A lot of cherries in both aroma and flavor, sweetness was not at all too sweet. No acidity and no carbon dioxide. Quite interesting.

Small pinkish white head. Deep red body. Yoghurty cherry aroma with marzipan notes. Sweet-dry metallic yoghurty cherry taste, a bit artificial, with wooden notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dry wooden marzipan cherry aftertaste. Decent, but no more. (0.33l draft, The Office Pub, St. Petersburg.)

Had this as Belle Vue Kriek Classique. Starts quite sweet, very fruity, but also very dry from the beginning till the end. Turns more and more sourish. Fruityness goes to the background. Average!

330ml bottle into Belle-Vue Kriek tulip glass at De Bier Haus Tauranga. Small creamy light pink lasting head, excellent lacing, deep red hue. Initially thought it looked smelled and tasted like some artificial cherry drink but at $13 for the bottle I thought I better appreciate more than just that! Aromas of cherry, raspberry, aniseed, liquorice, almond, marzipan, and mature cheese., some perfume rose. Mostly very sweet, slightly tart sour flavour. Medium bodied with oily texture, soft carbonation, long dry woody finish. Overall just very expensive cherry flavoured lolly water.

Aroma is a good mix of cherries and grains on the nose, not too sweet, not too dry. Looks very nice with a bright pink head that actually lingers, though it could be bigger. Has a very soft cherry feel with just a hint of grain in there, and a nice dry finish. A very good Kriek that’s not too hard to find.

A 25cl bottle, Pours a dark red color with a light pink color head that quickly go down. (therefor artificial flavors). Aroma are sweet and fruity, but somewhat an artificial aroma. Flavors are sweet and fruity, with a hint of oak flavor. Light to drink but too sweet and the taste of chery sirup is present. The 37.5cl cork bottle is better.

Appearance: Transparent cherry with a fake-looking (but pretty) pink head. Aroma: Chemically synthesized raspberry/cherry syrup flavoring Flavor: Chemically synthesized raspberry and raspberry candy. Comment: Could add a glowing, green radioactive die, as done to the 3-eyed mutant fish that live downstream from the nuclear power plant in Simpsons. There needs to be some clear warning to scare away those tempted by the appearance, though the pink foam should be scary enough. It will be challenging to find a worse beer.

Tap. This style is way too sweet for me. Aroma is just cherries, which I like. Flavour is just sweet, with no balance. Medium body in the palate, with an oily texture. Red colour, fizzy, with a thin, long-lasting head.
