The beer is a cherry red colour with a fluffy pink head, the colours do make it a bit hard to take this beer seriously! The aroma was not what I was expecting from something that is classified under Fruit Lambic on Ratebeer, there was lots of sweet cherry, a bit of caramel, fake cherry candy, a hint of sourness and a whiff of corn? The first sip was all sweetness, lots of sugar with a very artificial cherry candy flavour. The body is quite thin with lots of carbonation to the point of being unable to hold a sip in your mouth as it bubbles up fairly violently. As I progressed through the glass a sourness finally begun to build up in my mouth but it wasn’t anywhere near enough to counter the sweetness.

OLD NOTES OCT 20, 2003 A sour cherry, almost grapey smell in the bottle, similar to a wine, again. Upon pouring into a glass it formed a thin foamy kind of head with a beautiful red body. This can’t be a beer! The flavour is quite a light but quite tart and sweet cherry flavour, with subtle hints of what I seems like grapes and strawberries. This beer reminds me of a red wine i’ve tried, just much lighter on the palate. Reminds me too much of a wine to take too seriously.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2014 Dark red cherry beer with a light brown tint. The cherry flavour is kept nice and subtle, and isn’t at all dominating.

a) Belle-Vue Kriek 5.2%: : Die erste Assoziation sind "Gummibärchen in Bier".

Test vom 16.3.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,10,12,4,12,10 - 9,70
