3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 LanceUppercut (139) - SWEDEN - MAR 23, 2010
I know I shouldn’t like this, but I kind of do. It can’t compete with real lambics or other sours, but i like the mellow tones of cherries and almond, and the sweetness that comes with it.

Bottle. Pours a clear coppery red colour with a fluffy pinkish head that lasts a little while. Cherries are noticeable on the nose but there are also strong hints of malt, caramel and oak. Flavour is mildly tart and has notes of cherries, malt, sherbet, mineral and berries. Light bodied with high carbonation and a sweet, dry finish that lingers. Overall this is quite well balanced but isn’t particularly impressive; it seems like all the elements are muted in some way and it also verges on being too sweet. Still drinkable though.

A bit of an over-commercialised fruit-beer here in Belgium. One of the most well known in our country, but we have better Cherish-beers.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Mjollnir (335) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - JAN 14, 2010
Draught. Poured a ruby red with thick head that quickly settled. There was funk in the aroma, but it tasted like fizzy cordial, with a very slight sourness creeping in as it warmed. Medium bodied, average carbonation with a short finish that wasn’t as sweet as expected, at least.

Bottle from 1995 at Kulminator, Antwerp.
A lot of cherries in both aroma and flavor, sweetness was not at all too sweet. No acidity and no carbon dioxide. Quite interesting.
