TURDFERGUSON (1256), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Jan 7, 2009 Can! shared by oldstylecubsfan. Thanks Todd! This beer smells and tastes like a ludens cherry cough drop. Delish! Not tart or sour at all, but not terribly cloyingly sweet either. Pretty darn good if you ask me. emacgee (1305), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Dec 31, 2008 Thanks OldStyleCubFan for sharing. Poured out of a can (!). Color is a translucent pink with a one finger frothy pink head. The nose is sweet, shows cherry and candy, some almond and cherry pit. The flavor is more sweet than I would expect, cherry and cherry skins, almond character from the pits comes through as well. Lacks the tartness I wants. JCB (1191), Durham, North Carolina, USA Dec 30, 2008 Shared at the Carolina Crew tasting by OldStyleCubFan - thanks, Todd! Nice to have something aluminum aged for once. Barrels are for suckas. Pretty handsome pour, a nice, well carbonated kriek. But lozenge lozenge lozenge, and a thinnish body to boot. sirPino (668), Zawiercie / Żywiec, Poland Dec 29, 2008 No 660

Bottle brown, 300 ml, alc 5,1 percent abv, min 8,5 percente of cherry juice, bought in Czech Republic, Trinec, Hypernova,
Appearance pours intensive, dark red, cherry and strawberry like body colour with clear body texture, carbonation of the body is moderate, head is initially huge, quite thick, compact, frothy and regular in texture, slowly decreasing to moderate leaving nice lacing, head is reddish pink, cherry like in colour,
Aroma strong aroma of natural refreshing cherry juice, slightly spiced up by leavy hoppyness and gentle notes of alcohol, no sourness and quite dominating mellow yeasty nose giving the impression of whipped cream, candid sugar, vanilla, very inviting and easy to assess,
Flavour front is quite mild, soft, slightly accidic and slightly sweet, generally the most neutral Lambic Kriek I ve tasted so far, not too much accidic, not tart and not overly sweet, very moderate, so, so, of course yeasty with moderate cherry influence, finish duration is moderate,
Palate body is light, texture is rather watter, carbonation on palate is soft, finish feel is slightly astringent durhambeer (700), Durham, USA Dec 29, 2008 Kriek from a can! Shared by Todd at the Carolina gathering. Clear red pour. Smells like a Luden’s cough drop and tastes the same, only sweeter. Candy beer.
