Cherryade beer which is pleasant to drink, but is pushing the point of beer.

Draft. Pours red with a thin pink head. Fruity cherry aroma with some lighter earthy notes. The flavor has fruity cherry syrup and a hint of sourness lying in the background. Easy to drink, but otherwise unimpressive.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2005 Undated bottle. Pours a very deep raspberry red, but quite clear. No sediment?? Yikes. Small light pink head. Smells of sweet black cherries, light balsamic vinegar. Flavor is right away bittersweet, not as heavily sweet and syrupy as I was expecting though. Claims to be oak aged and there is a dry, lightly astringent flavor present, but not terribly oaky tasting. Little lambic quality, the filtration no doubt taking care of that, no funk. Not trying to jump on the trash talk interbrew bandwagon, but man, this was disappointing. The flavor wasnt bad or inoffensive, but just nothing adventurous, no personality.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2006 Bottle. Clear deep red with a brownish tinge, nice fluffy pinkish head. Sweetish candy-like aroma of cherris. Also perfume and notes of vinegar. Taste is a little acidic with light sweet dark cherries. Slight tart finish. Enjoyable, but a bit artificial.

375 ml corked bottle, champagne style, bought in Prague. Label says: P.H. Wandenstock Belle-Vue Kriek Lambic. ABV is 5.1%. Brewed by Interbrew Belgium, distributed in the Czech Republic by Staropramen. Beautiful red colour, large pink foamy head. Lovely aroma of sour cherries. Flavour is of course sour cherries too, initially sweet, with a hint of hops. Not very complex, and the finish is surprisingly short.

Draught at Beer Belly. Bright candy red color. Aroma of sweet fake cherries and biscuits; sour fruits. Sweet, raspberry flavor, dull, with a rather dry and bitter finish and some bitter fink at the end but not a lambic funk. More raspberry than cherry, with cardboard and ass. Unpleasant and fake.
