2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Lumpy (1802) - Carrollton, Texas, USA - JUL 17, 2004
Bottle corked and caged. Very attractive pour. Brown/red with a thick foamy head, like champagne. Nose smells like malty cherry cough syrup. The taste is tart, malty, sweet, and has a carbo bite that flattens out quickly. There are also secondary notes of plums, black licorice, and vinegar. The vinegar note is very sharp and off putting. The cherry flavor is not overdone. It hides in the background very well. The finish is a little too sharp and acidic. Overall, this isn’t bad, but there are much better out there.

bottle from small restaurant in Brussels. Pours clear wine red with medium foamy head. Lots of lacing. Aroma is sweet fruits with some tart. Not a lot acidic. Taste is sweet fruits, slight tart and acidic. Much like the Mort Subite kriek. Too sweet to be called a kriek.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20 ClubGonzo (1732) - Bergen, NORWAY - SEP 14, 2010
Bottle @ some cafe in Brussels. Pours a beautiful hazy pink body with a large light-hued pink head. Aroma is artificial cherry extracts and massive amounts of sugar. Taste is exactly what the aroma promised. This beer may look good, but it tastes pretty awful.
3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 IndianaRed (1727) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 31, 2004
Bottle Pours a cloudy deep red with a good frothy white head that never completely goes away. It and nice lacing are maintained well. Aroma is a ver nice sour cherry with earthy musty hints. Flavor however leaves some to be desired. That strong cherry flavor is missing and only a tease of what could be there. Bread, yeast, old wood barrels are a nice inclusion but dissapointing on the cherry. Feel is lively and refreshing. Not very dry or sweet. The after taste is more like sucking on a piece of the barell used to store the stuff. Not bad, just doesn’t compare to the Lindemans.
