UPDATED: AUG 11, 2005 (on bottle) These dry, fruit beers tend to be odd for the averege beer-lover; me. But having this, deep ruby brew with a short-lasting pink head, to a sweet(very sweet)desert, actually was a good experience. A bit artificial, metallic aftertaste, though. RERATED: More experienced now, but it´s still a very sweet beer, candy if you like.

Reddish brown color with a pinkish head. The taste is sweet with fruits and cherries. Finishes slightly bitter an unpleasant.

Strong aroma of cherry and plum. Nice frothy, pink lasting head with beautiful lacing. Hue is ruby red. Flavour is very sweet and heavy on the cherry with a tangy sour and flat finish. Although quite tasty, I will wait until next summer to bring this one out. Beats any cooler I've had.

Got this can across the way from the train station in Schaerbeek, Brussels, Belgium yesterday. Kinda had high hopes for this especially after I poured and took a whif. Looks great with a big pink foamy, frothy, textured head and loads of lace. Aroma was apparent immediately upon opening the can of pie cherries. Closer sniff gave up some floral qualities too. Flavor was not so good; body either. Taste was very shallow; only of the aroma and barely any beer. Body was super thin. Tawdry. Somebody’s trying to get by on the cheap. I call you out sir! Think I’m being a little over kind in the ratings actually.

Countbeer (1686) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - NOV 26, 2010
Bottle: Nice big off white to light rose airy but long staying foamy head. Amber orange red to rose colored beer. Smell cherry, malts, sweets and a hint of sour. Taste is a bit flat artificial cherry sweets, dust, malts. Strange cherry aftertaste, light soapy and bit sour and watery.

On keg in Riga. Pours a red colour with a fair pink head. Aroma of cherry and a little lemon. Similar flavours with a lemon sherbert quality which lingers nicely. Quite one dimensional and a little sweet. I prefer sour krieks.

Dark, red coloured with a slim pink head. Nice cherry aroma. Disappointing flavour, cherry, medicinal and wood. The flavour is a bit too subdued for me.

I liked this beer because the cherry wasn´t overpowering, the beer was warming, and got better as it got warmer. Not the best fruit beer, but pretty good.
